In the palace of Versailles The king Louis XVI and the queen Marie Antoinette live in comfort while the citizens of france live in poverty and starvation. The king needs to find a way to pay off his debt after helping the states in their battle against Britain and will have a meeting with the first and second estates to decide which estate will pay for the war
The 1st and 2nd estate meet to decide who will pay the taxes necessary to pay off the debt. They decide that the third estate that makes up 97% of the countries population will pay.
Meanwhile the bourgeoisie are starving because of the increased prices of bread and neglect from their rulers. They have finally had enough.
They raid the bastille to get gunpowder for their guns and get ready to destroy the monarchy.
