  • Im tired of all these rules and acts the British are creating!
  • Me Too! Lets Protest!
  • Dyer, I need you to take care of the protesters in India!
  • Alright, will do!
  • The people of India were tired of British rule and laws, especially the Rowaltt acts. These acts allowed certain political cases to be tried without juries and permitted interment suspects without trial.
  • Tired of British rule, the people of India began protests against the British. Thousands joined the protests and the group soon reached Amritsars Jallianwala Garden even though the garden had a ban on public assembly's.
  • The situation in the Garden was getting out of hand so the British military sent in General Harry Dyer to take care of the situation.
  • This is unbelievable! Your command will be relieved!
  • When general Dyer finally arrived at the garden, the protesters would not leave. Dyer and his soldiers then opened fire on the protesters
  • For 10 to 15 minutes, around 1650 rounds of ammunition were shot into the crowd. Almost 400 civilians were killed, and another 1200 were left wounded with no medical attention.
  • Once Dyer was back in England, he was told that his command was relieved. Although his command was relieved he still was seen as a hero in Britain.
