  • Frederick Douglass was a African American social reformer, abolitionist, orator, writer, and statesman.

  • Thomas or Stonewall Jackson served as he Confederate general during the civil war and was shot down by his own men on accident but still led his troops very well.
  • Stonewall Jackson
  • On April 12th through April 13th 1861 the first battle of the civil battle took place took place at Fort Sumter. No lives were lost at the battle and this battle stared the start of the civil war.

  • The battle of Antietam was the bloodiest day in American history. On September 17, 1862 the battle begun and left both sides battered but the union still won.

  • The battle of Gettysburg took place on July 1st through July 3rd. It was 75,000 Confederate troops to 90,000 union troops and union won because of a deadly charge pickets had called.

  • The siege of Vicksburg was the turning point of the civil war for the union. The union had control over the Mississippi river and the union could now start to fulfill the anaconda plan.
