SC case : Tinker v. Des Moines Independent School District

A few students came to school one day with a black band of cloth around their arm. These students were trying to protest against the war in Vietnam.
All these students were suspended because they refused to take off the arm bands.
Some very angry and frustrated parents decided to sue the school district. This was how the Tinker v. Den Moinse Independent School District case began.
The Supreme Court sided with the students and they won the case.
The Supreme Court did side with the the students but said that expressing yourself on school property must me appropriate and respectful to all.
Expressing yourself should never and is not allowed to be a distraction to others while in the school learning environment.
