While they were in Alabama they heard a bomb go off at the church, Kenny thinks that he sister is dead because she went to Sunday school at the church. When he went inside he saw a black shiny shoe that looked exactly like Joetta's. But she is still alive. This shows this is the falling action because because the conflict is settling but still continuing. This image shows when the church got bombed.
When they returned home it wasn't the same, Kenny was sad and would hide behind the couch, then one day Byron took him into the bathroom where he cried and told Byron about the bombing and how he though Joetta was dead ,once Kenny felt better he came out the bathroom after splashing water on his face.
