  • Life wasn't the worst at first but I had lived better.
  • When they shipped me to the 13th British Colonies they classified me as a Cherokee.
  • But then...After adapting to this new land
  • Leave at once! this is now our land that we will use to farm and live on!
  • The colonizers decided to remove us from our land once again. But this time forcefully. We had no option but to leave, and travel hundreds of miles to a place called Oklahoma. We were leaving our homes, our land, but most importantly our way of life, and anyone that had anything to say about it was either imprisoned or more often than not, killed.
  • We arrived to Oklahoma, after a long trek, where hundreds died. Oklahoma was less than ideal to say the least, it was dry which didn't allow for crops to grow. Upon arriving we had found out that the colonizers weren't the only ones to blame for us getting kicked off our land. Our leader John Ridge had been offered a deal for us to relocate which he accepted selfishly. Upon finding out, the tribe killed him. At least the ones of us who had survived,
  • I couldn't bare the fact that I was forced to live on this land, so I migrated to a place called Texas. It belonged to Mexico, however, there was a large American population that was crying to gain independence from Mexico.
  • I had changed my appearance to be accepted, however, Texas was a diverse area and I felt at ease. The people treated me well. So well, that when the Mexican-American war arose I chose to take part as a nurse for the soldiers.
  • I treated the wounded soldiers in old buildings very close to the battlefield. I needed for this land to be my own for the rest of my life, like no place before ever was, and I was determined to make sure it became so.
