  • 3) I've done some research on All Souls Day before and don't you also have to be accepted on All Souls Day.
  • 2) I have been coming to this grave site often so that when the time comes I will be allowed to worship with the saints on All Souls Day.
  • 4) Yes.
  • Origins
  • 1) Did you know some poeople think that All Souls Day comes from European folklore and things around the world like the Chinese Ghost Festival, the Japanese Bon Festival, and the Roman Lemuria.
  • 2) Yeah, but did you know that it became popular after Abbot Odilo legalized it as a day for the monks.
  • Many holidays have come and gone over the centuries. But a select few have managed to stay around until now!  One of those holidays is All Souls Day, it's been around since the sixth century and is still going on to this day. Today we will cover it's indulgence requirements, origins, history and traditions.

  • 2) They remember all saints and departed souls on a Friday because it is thought that Jesus died on a Friday.

  • 1) All Souls Day started in the sixth century when it was customary to pray for peace in the catacombs of the dead.
  • 2) As well as it was customary to pray for dead members of the church.

  • 1) Feasts are often held in honor of the saints and members of the church who have passed on.
  • After doing the research I was surprised that it was so popular but I had still bearly ever heard of it, and now I think I may want to try it someday.
