I want the monkey’s paw!!
No we must burn it!
*knocking at the door*
ITS HERBERT! IM COMING HERBERT!
I wish for Herbert to go back where he came from...
In the exposition the book tells us about Mr. and Mrs.White are brought into the story as well as the son Herbert and where and how they live. Also the mood of the beginning of the story is very happy and calm with the father and son playing chess with the mother close by observing. In the rising action the paw is brought into the story and Mr.White makes his wishes and suffers all the consequences that come with them.
During the rising action Mr. White makes a wish for his son to come back to life. So in the Climax Mr,White realizes what would come to the door, him and his wife hear a loud knock in the middle of the night. In the falling action Mrs.White runs to the door in hopes that it is Herbert, she is running to the door trying to get it open and calling out his name.
However in the resolution Mr.White realizes the terrible mistake he has made by wishing his son back and grabs the monkeys paw and wishes him away. My superstition is if you brake a mirror for 7 years you will have bad luck, this used to be more popular in earlier years but now its not as nearly as popular.
