Siddhartha Gautama was born a prince in 563 B.C. Siddhartha's Father met with a fortune teller who says Siddhartha will become a king or fortune teller. Obviously his father wanted him to be a king.
Siddhartha Gautama was raised in wealth and luxury without sadness or pain. There were always guards with him to protect him from seeing any sadness or pain. Later Siddhartha got married and had a son.
One day Siddhartha road out of the palace without guards. So he saw many sick and dying people in great pain. Siddhartha felt bad for the people. he decided to be Self Denial and have very little of anything useful.
After he saw all these things he Siddhartha left the castle traded all his nice clothes an old rag. Because of this he became homeless. Siddhartha tried to find the meaning in life and learned about reincarnation and the cycle of life. He tried to find a way to escape this cycle of birth, life, and death.
To try and escape the cycle of reincarnation by reaching enlightenment. To reach enlightenment Siddhartha meditated under a fig tree for 40 days to try and clear his mind. The god Mara came to Siddhartha and got very mad at him. Because of this Siddhartha went into an even deeper meditation until he did reach enlightenment. After he reached enlightenment Siddhartha was known as the Buddha and he shared his teachings with the world.
