Storyboard Text

  • Stars, hide your fires;Let not light see my black and deep desires. The eye wink at the hand, yet let that be  Which the eye fears, when it is done, to see.
  • Theme Emergment
  • Tone
  • spirits That tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here, And fill me from the crown to the toe top-full Of direst cruelty. Make thick my blood.Stop up th’ access and passage to remorse
  • Connotation
  • Art not without ambition, but withoutThe illness should attend it.
  • In this phrase i believe he is saying not to let anyone see his dark sinister desires which I relate to him finding out that he would be king and that the only way for that to happen would be for him to kill the king. I found this as the first piece of passage that mentions the desire to kill or be evil.
  • Theme Development
  • My bosom franchised and allegiance clear,I shall be counseled. Macbeth. Good repose the while. Banquo. Thanks, sir. The like to you. [Banquo and Fleance exit.] Macbeth. Go bid thy mistress, when my drink is ready,She strike upon the bell. Get thee to bed. [Servant exits.] Is this a dagger which I see before me,The handle toward my hand? Come, let me clutch thee.I have thee not, and yet I see thee still.Art thou not, fatal vision, sensibleTo feeling as to sight? or art thou butA dagger of the mind, a false creationProceeding from the heat-oppressèd brain?I see thee yet, in form as palpableAs this which now I draw. [He draws his dagger.]Thou marshal’st me the way that I was going,And such an instrument I was to use.
  • The tone that I chose was sinister or wicked. Words or phrases that contribute to this tone would be unsex, direst cruelty, remorse, and make thick my blood. In this passage its saying how shes calling upon demons or evil spirits to take all of the feminine weakness out of her, and to fill her up quickly with the cruelty she will need to kill and not to let her feel emotional or remorse for things in which she is about to do..
  • Figurative Language
  • The literal definition of illness is a disease or period of sickness, but in this context I believe it is representing wickedness or sinister acts, because no wife literally wants their husband or spouse to be ill fallen, but instead she wants her husband to be sinister or evil
