Fair is foul, and foul is fair,Hover through the fog and filthy air
For brave Macbeth (well he deserves that name),Disdaining Fortune, with his brandished steel, Which smoked with bloody execution,
When you durst do it, then you were a man; And to be more than what you were, you would Be so much more the man
The Weird Sisters predict to Banquo and Macbeth their futures one of them being that Macbeth will be king. He tells his wife of what happened and she calls upon every evil spirit to turn her and her husband murderous and deceiving. Lady Macbeth Convinces Macbeth, by reducing his manhood, to kill the king. Despite his resits, he continues with the plan.
The theme: Relationship between Cruelty and Masculinity, first emerges when Macbeth is in war. Although this is not seen in the play the winning of a battle is discussed and leads to the plot begging. In war Macbeth is a leader of destruction, but his actions are considered " for the well being" due to his fight for his country. Although this theme is most development later his passion for violence has always been inside of him. Also, during those times women were not aloud in war so the tought of men fight and this proves our masculinity begins at the base of all his wars.
This theme mostly comes when Lady Macbeth is threatening his masculinity for his unwillingness for murder. His passion for violence has always been inside but she pushes it over the edge. Lady Macbeth convinced Macbeth that destruction is what makes a man.
