Storyboard Text

  • I'm tired. Let me see what time it is.
  • Oh no! I'm late for work as always!
  • I don't have time for that. I need to figure out how to get to work the fastest way.
  • What's the Pythagorean Theorem?
  • B
  • A
  • C
  • It is a method of finding out a side of a triangle. The longest side is named C, and the other two sides are named A and B.
  • What a surprise! You're on time as always.
  • Since you're super late this time, you should try using the Pythagorean Theorem.
  • What is the fastest way to get to work?
  • 5²+12²=c² 25+144=c² c²=169 The square root of 169 is 13. Which means it takes 13 miles to go to work directly.
  • If a²+b²=c², then I can plug in the distances, and find out the shorter distance.
  • If I take the train station everyday to work, which is 5 miles away, then go to work which is 14 miles away, I can find out the fastest way possible using the Pythagorean Theorem.
  • 14 miles
  • Train Station
  • Work
  • 5 miles
  • ?
  • Home
  • You didn't even let me answer yes or no! And I don't know if that's something you should be proud of, but whatever.
  • Hey bus driver, wanna hear a cool story? I was late to work today, so I used the Pythagorean Theorem to figure out the fastest way to get to work.
  • One of your coworkers gave this to you. He said you will need it for work today, and it will help solve your bring late to work problem.
