  • The Indian National Congress is a political party in India with widespread roots, founded in 1885.
  • Salt March
  • It took place on April 13, 1919, Bridadier- General Reginald dyer ordered British troops to shoot five rifles at unarmed Indian civilians.
  • India Gains Independance
  • Gandhi introduced "Satyagraha" which means passive resistance. Satya means truth, and agraha means insistence. Satyagraha is more of an idea of practicing non-violence.
  • The salt march was an act of non-violence civil disobedience in colonial India led by Gandhi.
  • On Aug. 15, 1947 Jawaharlal Nehru gave Independence to India and became the first prime minister of India.
