Storyboard Text

  • Objective Summary
  • "Thou canst not say I did it. Never shake Thy gory locks at me. (3.4.50-51).
  • RL 1
  • "Why do you make such faces? When all’s done. You look but on a stool."(3.4.67-68)
  • RL 2
  • "Prithee see there. Behold, look! [To the Ghost] Lo, how say you?"(3.4.68-70).
  • In Act III of Macbeth, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth are now king and queen. They are thinking that Banquo knows about their plans. So, the king and queen hire 3 murderers to kill him and his son. Then the murders ambush him and his son. Although the murderers kill only Banquo and his son, Fleance, gets away from the murder. Later Macbeth has a big feast but is gone mad by the ghost of Banquo.
  • RL 4
  • "Avaunt, and quit my sight! Let the earth hide thee. Thy bones are marrowless; thy blood is cold; Thou hast no speculation in those eyes Which thou dost glare with."(3.4.92-96)
  • A theme for the dinner scene in Macbeth for Ambition leads to corruption is when Macbeth starts to see the ghost of Banquo and starts to lose his mind. That is how he gets corrupted because of his guilt from killing his king and his friend.
  • RL 4 pt2
  • "Hence, horrible shadow! Unreal mock’ry, hence!"
  • In dinner scene with Macbeth and Banquo, Macbeth starts to go crazy when he starts to see the "ghost" of Banquo sitting in his seat the dinner hall. Macbeth was afraid and had so much guilt for killing one of his friends he starts to go crazy and starts shouting at Banquo when everyone start to worry for Macbeth.
  • Conclusion
  • "Come, we’ll to sleep. My strange and self-abuse Is the initiate fear that wants hard use. We are yet but young in deed." (3.4.142-144)
  • Macbeth tells the returning ghost of Banquo that he is not real and that he has no real form with blood, bones, and demented eyes. The word I used was Marrow-less, because of the ghost, it is transparent and would make sense that it would have no marrow in his bones. But in other contexts that would not make as much sense.
  • In this scene you can tell from Macbeth's tone that he is scared for himself. He keeps yelling in fear at the ghost Banquo. This shows he fears for his safety and makes everyone else concerned for him.
  • In conclusion of scene four Lady Macbeth and Macbeth send all of the people back home from the dinner. When everyone had left Macbeth and Lady Macbeth head to bed because of his weird actions and stress he was going threw.
  • "You lack the season of all natures, sleep."(3.4.141)
