- The beginning of WW1 was due to the assassination of Archduke Frans Ferdinand in June 28, 1914. This assassination was committed by a Serbian journalist which infuriated Austria-Hungary (due to Archduke Frans Ferdinand being the next heir) resulting in an declaration of war on Serbia on July 29.

- Due to countries throughout Europe having mutual defense agreements, an occurrence of the domino effect had introduced many countries to the war. The countries supporting Serbia are known as the Allied forces and Austria-Hungary as Central Powers.
- USA: We should create a 14-point peace plan for Germany.
- As WW1 progressed, many atrocities occurred leading to millions of deaths on both sides of the war. The death toll was extremely high due to the new advancements in weaponry and equipment as well as new chemical weapons.
- British, France, and more: We should make Germany pay for all the atrocities they have committed!
- In order to get Mexico in WW1, Germany tried to give Mexico a note known as the Zimmerman note that tells Mexico to occupy the USA to distract them from the war in Europe in order to have the highest possibility to become victorious. But, British intelligence had intercepted the note and sent it directly to the USA, which infuriated the US citizens leading the US into WW1 joining the Allied forces.
- As America provides extra resources and new soldiers, they are now able to fully defeat Germany causing them to sign an armistice on November 11, 1918.
- The countries in the Allied Powers had conflicting views on whether Germany has to either pay or not pay for their actions. But in the end, the treaty of Versailles cane in place to confirm that WW1 was Germany’s fault and that they have to pay for reparations for all damages caused.
