Storyboard Text

  • Actions
  • Let me get you you coat from you
  • Hi honey I'm home.
  • In the story it says "She took his coat and hung it in the closet."(Paragraph 4)
  • Thoughts
  • In the story it says "He had now become absolutely motionless, and he kept his head down so that the light from the lamp beside him fell across the upper part of his face, leaving the chin and mouth in shadow."(Paragraph 9)
  • I sorry honey but I have to leave you. I am in love with someone else.
  • But why Patrick? I am almost ready to give birth.
  • Effect on Others
  • I the story it says "She might just as well have hit him with a steel club." (Paragraph 14)
  • This is a form of actions because it shows her taking off his coat and being a good housewife, like you should in the 1950's.  She did everything she was supposed to like taking his coat off and making the man a drink
  • Looks
  • In the story it says "When the sergeant returned the second time, she looked at him with her large, dark tearful eyes."
  • This shows thoughts because it shows that she cares about their relationship and  doesn't like this decision. Back then if a man broke up with  a women that would be huge. That might have meant that she was doing enough for the man..
  • Speech
  • In the story it says ""Why don’t you eat up that lamb that’s in the oven? It’ll be cooked just right by now.”"(Pragraph 48)
  • In the story it says  "Briefly, she told her story about going out to the grocer and coming back to find him on the floor." (Paragraph 18)
  • This shows her effects on others. She is so mad at him that she can't stand seeing him. It says in the story "Lamb to the Slaughter" paragraph 41 it says "So I’ve killed him." This is huge because women are not supposed to murder their husband. Women back then wouldn't not even think of doing such a thing.
  • Direct Characterization/ Dynamic or Static
  • This shows what her tears looked like and sad she seems. This would be usual for a person losing a lost one back then. This shows that she really cares, nut on the inside she knows she did it. She is just trying to make it look like she didn't do it.
  • This shows Marry speaking to the detective about the lamb leg. She is telling him to eat it. This shows a perfect murder because she is getting ride of the weapon /evidence and the police don't even know it.
  • She is a Dynamic character because she loved her husband, but when she finds out he is leaving her she kills him. This is kind of a perfect murder because it is unexpected.  Also, she makes sure no one suspects her.
