Good men crying about how "bright" the last wave is. The easy deeds they did might have been good somewhere. Wild men who sang when the sun went down and was sad about it when it left. Men about to die who are blind are still so happy. This is how he wants his father to be. All of these things.
When you're old you should be burning and raving at the end of the day. Be mad when you're about to die. Wise men know that it is okay they are dying because it happens. But they are mad that they're dying because they don't think their words have had enough power.
It's really depressing because its about different people and how they act when they are dying. Then it shifts to his father and how the author wants him to act when he is dying.
Some connotation words are burn, rave, rage, dying of the light, dark, crying, frail, grieved, and blind.
It is really sad, depressing, and dark through most of it.
There is a shift at every stanza because at every stanza it talks about a new type of person and how they act when they are about to die. Then there is another big shift at the end when it starts to be personal for the author and he starts talking about his father. He says he wants him to be like all of these people.
I have a change in what I think the meaning of the title is. I think that it means do not go easily into your death.
