Tobie is a newspaper boy that gets haircuts where the whites do. There are two barbershops in town. All the whites in the barbershop are friendly with him.
Joey is Tobie's younger brother and Mr. Brewer doesn't know that. Tobie is know by a lot of people around town. No Hispanics are allowed in the barbershop but when one does show up they get sent to Mr. Lopez the one that cuts hairs for the Hispanic. For the line at Mr. Lopez barbershop it's full and have to wait for hours.
Since Mr. Brewer doesn't know Joey is Tobie's younger brother. Tobie told Joey to tell Mr. Brewer that he's Toibe's younger brother. He heading his way to the barbershop.
At the barbershop all the other people are looking at him. They start to leave till it's just Mr.Brewer and Joey. Mr. Brewer goes up to him and tells him he can't get a haircut here and he has to go to Mr. Lopez for it before he left Mr. Brewer told him to tell Mr. Lopez he said hi.
He tells Mr. Lopez tha Mr. Brewer said hi. Joey didn't get a haircut because it was packed. When was leaving everyone was looking at him. He started to cry when he left.
Tobie sees that he didn't get his haircut. Then went back with Joey to clear things up with Mr. Brewer. After realizing he's Tobie's brother he felt bad for telling him to go to Mr. Lopez's.
