  • Next up ionic and covalent bonds
  • This is another example of an ionic bond
  • Now that we have covered ionic bonds it's time for  covalent bonds
  • An ionic bond is formed by the transfer of electrons and is between a metal and a nonmetal. One characteristic is that it can be dissolved in water.
  • Covalent bonds are formed by sharing nonmetals and is very hard to define by characteristic
  • Metallic bonding is, the chemical bonding that holds the atoms of a metal together. Metallic bonds are formed from the attraction between mobile electrons and fixed, positively charged metallic atoms.
