There was once an Egyptian goddess named Hathor. She was mostly known as the goddess of love and childbirth. Mostly thought her as a cow, she was sometimes thought of as a lioness.
She was married to Horus the elder. Their children were Horus the younger and Ihy.
She was created to be a defender of Ra when he was being criticized by the people he ruled over.
During her time as a defender Sekhmet (Hathor) got so out of control in her killing spree that had Ra turned beer to the color of red in order to stop Sekhmet. When she woke up with an overhang she became a lot more docile and was now named Hathor.
Over the years she gained many nicknames. She was once thought to be a sky goddess and that she is represented by a cow is because the milk that comes from the cow is the Milky Way.
She earned the name "Celestial Nurse" by taking care of the pharaoh when he was ill in the form of a cow or fruit from a Sycamore tree.
