Storyboard Text

  • Hi! I just got a puppy, Jax, one week ago, and he hasn't been feeling well for the past three days. He hasn't been eating a lot, and when he does, he throws it up five minutes later. He also sleeps a lot after eating.
  • I'm sorry to hear that! I'm just going to ask a couple of questions, and I'll set up an appointment for Jax tomorrow, okay?
  • Mountain-View Vet Clinic
  • I don't think he's been vaccinated before. His papers don't say anything about allergies, so I think the breeder just didn't give him shots.
  • What vaccines has Jax gotten before today? And has he had any reaction to them?
  • Because of Jax's symptoms and age, it's possible that he has Parvovirus. The vaccine is given under the skin, it binds with the maternal antibodies that are present in puppies, and then will attack the virus if he gets it again.
  • When Jax is feeling better, try to set up a basic wellness exam here for other vaccines. Young animals like Jax don't have fully developed immune systems, so vaccinating them can help fight off and prevent diseases, viruses and infections.
