The Flying Machine
"Yes, too beautiful."
"Is it not beautiful, Excellency"
"Ho, guards!" "Hold this man." "Call the executioner"
"What is this!"
"But their are times," said the Emporer "when one must lose a little beauty if one is to keep what little beauty one already has. I don't fear you, but I fear another man."
"You are merciful emperor"
"What is the life of one man against those of a million others? I must take solace from that thought."
"Burn the kite and the inventor's body and bury their ashes together"
Scene one shows the emperor realizing the power of this machine in the wrong hands. Scene 2 shows the emperor calling for the executioner because no one else knows of this machine and if he destroys it and its inventor it can do no harm. Scene 3 the emperor is showing his invention to the man and explains to him how evil can come out of something beautiful in the wrong hands. Scene 4 The emperor explains to his servant how he did what was needed to save his kingdom.
