Night by Ellie Weisel

The soldiers forced the Weisel's onto the train with many other jews from Sighet. Ellie faces Man vs Man because the germans are forcing them to go somewhere that they do not want to go. "The ghetto was to be liquidated entirely. Departures were to take place street by street, starting the next day." p.13
Mrs. Schächter Kept screaming that there was a fire outside of the train. This shows Man vs Self because her eyes see the fire but her brain knows its not there because all of the others on the train told er that it wasn't there. ""Look! Look at this fire! This terrible fire! Have mercy on me!" p.25
Take this my son. I will see you after work.
Ellie and his father wait in line to be sent to the crematorium or to the barracks. There are children being burned in a fire. "Not far from us, flames, huge flames, were rising from a ditch. Something was being burned there. A truck drew close and unloaded its hold: small children. Babies!" p.32 This shows Mav vs self because he is trying to decide if he is going to say the Kaddish and he was facing death.
Idek started to beat Ellie in one of his anger outbursts. "One day when Idek was venting his fury, I happened to cross his path. He threw himself on me like a wild beast, beating me in the chest, on my head, throwing me to the ground and picking me up again, crushing me with ever more violent blows, until I was covered in blood." p.53. This shows Mav vs. Man because Idek attecked Ellie
Ellie's father tried to give all of his valuables to Ellie just in case he didn't pass the selection. "Here, take this knife," he said. "I won't need it anymore. You may find it useful. Also take this spoon. Don't sell it. Quickly! Go ahead, take what I'm giving you!" p.75 This is man vs society because the society will kill his father if he does not pass the selection.
