Duties: The legislative session begins on the second monday in January and lasts 40 days. The rest of their two year terms is spent in commtiees and special sessions. They make laws to ensure the welfare of citizens and amending the constitution
How to Become a Member of GA's General Assembly Senators: Must be at least 25 years old, live in the distric for at least 1 year, and live in Georgia for at least two years. Representatives: Must be 21 years old and live in the distric for 1 year and be a resident of Georgia for 2 years. Someone who is active duty is not allowed to be part of the General Assembly.
The speaker of the house acts as the head of the House of Represenatives members elect them from amoung there members.
