Storyboard Text

  • Well TIG welding is rather different. Instead of an arc forming between a metal wire, a tungsten electrode is used.
  • Interesting! But I still don't know which one to use...
  • TIG welding can create a much nicer finish.
  • Ah, right! So should I use that then?
  • The problem is, that TIG welding can take years of practise. MIG is much easier for beginners to learn.
  • Ah, right! So should I use that then?
  • Alright! Thanks a lot! Goodbye!
  • No! Wait up! I need to show you how to weld safely!
  • Firstly, you need a welding helmet to protect your eyes from the light and radiation as well as your face from flying particles and sparks. You should also wear a respirator to protect your lungs from fumes.
  • You need fire retardant clothing (such as an apron) to protect your skin from the hot flying particles and also need fire resistant ear protection to protect from the noise.
  • Is that all?
  • There's two more things you need. Insulated gloves and rubber-soled, steel capped boots protect you from electric shock and burns.
