This is a particle named Drip, and Drip's life has been a great adventure as she traveled through all the different phase changes.
Drip's life first started out as a particle in solid form in an iceberg. Drip was very close to the other particles, and she cannot move freely because she is in solid form. Then one day the sun was shining and the temperature rose. This resulted in her melting into a water droplet and changed her state of matter from a solid to a liquid.
Drip then flowed into a quickly moving river. This river was below freezing, but because of kinetic energy, it continued to be a liquid. She flowed in this river for many miles.
Next, Drip flowed into a lake. She is in a different location where the climate and temperature is warmer than where she was before, so the lake will not freeze over. Now that she is in liquid form, she can move slowly but not rapidly around other particles. One day the temperature rose, she changed states from a liquid to a gas, and she evaporated into the atmosphere.
Now that Drip is a gas, she can move quickly and rapidly around other particles and has a lot of room to do so. Drip stayed in the atmosphere for a pretty long time, then autumn came around and her state of matter changed from a gas to a liquid as she condensated to the ground.
During the night, the temperature dropped, and in the morning Drip was dew on a window. During the day however, the temperature rose because of the heat from the sun, so Drip evaporated into the atmosphere, and changed from a liquid to a gas.
