I am at your service, masters. Anything you need?
It would be my honor and yes you may go.
Ferdinand Magellan was born in 1480, in Sabrosa, Portugal in a small kingdom.
When Ferdinand's parents died, he went to live with the king and queen of Portugal and started working for them too.
The king didn't think Ferdinand was a worthy sailor, so Ferdiand became determined prove that he was a good sailor. The king of Portugal didn't like Ferdinand's idea of sailing west to get to The Spicelands in Asia. Then, Ferdiand asked the king of Spain and after many years of approval, the king said yes.
Ferdinad then set off on his journey with a crew of 270 men. During Ferdinand's journey, he sailed through what we call "The Strait of Magellan" today.
