"She was sleeping in the absolutely confiding slumber peculiar to her age"(Hugo 41).

In the start Cosette lives a humble yet happy lifestlye she was happy earlier in her life. Fantine loved her. She meant everything to her. Cinderella loved her biological parents aswell.
",Cosette had not dared go and dry herself by the fire, but had gone silently to her work" (Hugo 162).
Fantine could no longer support having a child. SHe thought it was best to pay the Thenardiers to watch her daughter. SHe would pay until her death. Cinderella lost her parents and was sent to her evil step family.
"Several years passed thus. Cosette was growing" (Hugo 216)
While the step-ssiters were allowed to dowhat they wanted Cinderella would be abused if she did not listen to her step-mother. This happens to Cosette regurlurly that she has bruises right in her face.
"He saw Cosette every day"(Hugo 350).
Cosette is forced to clean her families end on a daily basis. Treated horribly and working for free. Cinderella had to clean her mansion everyday while her sisters were allowed to do whatever pleased them.
Jean Valjean is like Cosettes fairy god-mother. He saves her in a time of need and the makes her beautiful his love. Valjean buys her a dress and then she is able to meet her first love. Similar to how Cinderella's fairy god mother is able to get her a dress.
Cosette finds a love at first sight. This is really similar to Cinderella. The man is really attracted to a pretty female in blonde hair. And searches for her. It becomes almost an unhealthy search for this "love" that ends up being surprisingly mutual.
