Jasmine loved walking by the river, if only she wasn't so clumsy and saw the rock ahead of her . . .
At least no one saw!
. . . And then she heard laughing
Jasmine was utterly embarrased.
The girl was quite confused. The man in the river seemed to just be floating with the current. She decided to swim up to him...
That was hilarious!
Are you just floating!? But- why?
I'm not just floating in a river. I'm floating in life! You see, child, this river here is like life itself. The peaks and the troughs, pits, swirls, all of it is one big ride. You have fallen on this ride, and so you must do as I do, go with the flow. Enjoy it, as wild as it may get.
Life . . . a river? They are far too different.
Is it though? In nature we see that cold things grow hot, the hot cools, the wet dries, the parched moistens. Life itself, like this river, is in a constant state of motion and change.
And where is my place? What is my purpose?
You and I may be in the same river, but we have not experienced the same water. Like life, we have seen different moments with each passing second. The water beneath your fingertips was different a second ago. This, child, is what life is, change and flow.
As I said, to float and enjoy the ride, child.
When she looked back to say thank you, the man was not to be seen. She thought of the things he said for the rest of the walk, as she looked at the river with different water that reflected the life before her.
And so the two strangers floated in the river. Jasmine eventually climbed out.
