In the town of Brittany, there was a knight named Bisclavaret and his wife who were deeply in love and devoted to each other. For 3 days during the week, the husband disappears and returns 3 days later with no explanation of his absence for his wife.
One day, upon Bisclavaret return, the wife asked her husband where he goes off to for 3 days and why. The wife's questions overcame him and unwillingly he told her his secret; for he was a werewolf. He then explained he returns to human form by hiding his garments behind a bush to find them later.
In fear, she ran off to find the first knight she served and was devoted to and told him about Bisclavaret's werewolf secret. Then she told him her love, devotion, and loyalty was to him, if only he helped her find the hidden garments and get rid of them.
Restoration & Exile
Leave and never return.
When the King holds a gathering at his castle for the lords and their wives, the wife and her first knight arrive and Bisclavaret sees her and attacks her immediately. None of the knights could restain Bisclavaret as he bit off her nose in rage.
Realizing the only way to turn Bisclavaret back to a human, the King has the hidden garments retrieved and puts Bisclavaret and his clothes in a room so he can turn back into a man. A little later, the King enters the room again and find a human knight in the wolf's place. Overjoyed, he kissed him passionately.
In the end, the King returns everything that had been stolen from knight and also blesses him with other riches. As for the wife, the King exiled her and her second knight from his country forever.
