  • For this Sunday, our guest it from a known hospital. Let's welcome, Dr. Aaron!
  • Thank you for having me.
  • Now for our first question, how do the respiratory and circulatory systems work?
  • My, what a good question. When we inhale we take in oxygen and other gases to our bodies. Oxygen is what we need and our body dispels out gases that may harm our body. This is how respiration works.
  • What a detailed explanation...
  • As for the circulatory system, the heart pumps out blood and filters it and imbues it with oxygen, making it oxygenated blood which is safe for the body
  • But how does the blood get oxygenated in the first place?
  • There are two types of circulation. The pulmonary circulation is where the heart pumps out blood and sends it to the lungs for it to be oxygenated and free of carbon dioxide.
  • So that's how the respiratory and circulatory systems work...
  • The oxygen-rich blood then goes back to the heart then systemic circulation takes place. This is when the oxygen-rich blood gets distributed to the different parts of the body.
  • Thank you for that wonderful explanation Dr. Aaron. And with that, we now know how the respiratory and circulatory systems work. Till next time folks, we'll see y'all again!
  • Again, it is an honor to take part in this show. Thank you to everyone who tuned in, We'll see you next time. Goodbye!
