  • In both of the film and story version, the setting starts off at school. In the story version, Charlie wrote progress reports about what he did in school and out of school daily, but in the film version, Charlie didn't write any progress reports about what he did.
  • Climax
  • In both of the film and story version, charlie still had the same "friends", that were making fun of him. But in the film version, it showed that Charlie had a mom, and in the book it didn't mention anything about his mom.
  • Charlie's Action
  • In both of the film and story version, Charlie still has a job. But in the story version, he worked at a plastic box company and in the film version he worked at a bakery.
  • Resolution
  • The climax of both the film and story version, Charlie gets super smart. But then, his doctor tells him that his IQ level will go back down. The difference is that in the film version, the climax is when Charlie goes to a convention center in Chicago with Algernon. In the story he doesn't go to Chicago.
  • In both of the film and story version, Charlie didn't realize that people were making fun of him and he thought that they were his "friends". In the film version, Charlie would get super angry and start arguing when he finally realized that they were teasing him.
  • In both of the film and story version, the resolution ends up being Algernon dieing, and Charlie putting flowers on his grave. But the difference is that in the film version, in the end, Charlie visited his moms house and in the story he never went t his moms house.
