I could play soccer, but I'm a basketball player
The realistic fiction novel, Summer Ball, by Mike Lupica reveals that there is always good in someone, you just have to get to know them and get over what they look like.
In the book, Fast Break, by Mike Lupica, the main character is very poor. He gets over this obstacle and carrys his team to win a huge state tournament at University of North Carolina. In both books, they overcome thier adversities to win a basketball tournament even thogh one is a lot more important. Both of the boys are doubted by others and have to prove that they can accomplish their goal even though they are poor or short.
The conflict in the book is man vs. man between Danny and his coach who do not like each other. Coach Powers is always getting on him and is unfair about his playing time. Danny has to prove that he deserves more by working as hard as he can to play the way his coach wants him to.
Danny passed the ball between the defenses legs but his teammate wasn't looking and didn't catch it. Then, the coach got mad at Danny, but an NBA player came over and said good pass. This part made me feel happy and relieved because the coach stopped blaming it on him after that. The mood in this part was relieving because I started feeling bad for Danny because of his poor treatment from his coach. I felt so much better when the NBA player proved his coach wrong.
