  • In terms of this quotation, I believe it represents Banana Man's love for his job and lifestyle. Similar to the 1st quote, this one has also strongly shown how happy Banana Man is. The phrase "I will live an die a banana man" has been repeated in the poem and this repetition was used to create a powerful emotion and to emphasise the effect on reader.

  • Considering the Banana Man poem has an overall light theme, the alliteration has been used in addition to that. The use of alliteration in the phrase lightens the mood and injects an enjoyable theme. Moreover, alliteration laters the meaning of the text and makes the poem more amusing for readers.
  • Epistrophe

  • Description plays an extremely important part in the poem and there are several parts in the poem where description comes in handy. In this case, the writer has used a wide range of vocabulary in order to allow the reader to have a clearer picture of the scene. Personally, both these phrases instantly created images in my head which made it easier for me to understand the poem. The writer has used his language wisely to create images which are precise and handy.
  • The writer uses onomatopoeia in order to make the ship reference come alive. The writer's use of onomatopoeia was great due to the fact that it awakened the readers and there was some inclusion of fun and excitement. Moreover, the writer mentions "English ship". I believe he refers to the English expedition, which captured Jamaica in 1655.
  • Last but not least, the writer has used epistrophe in the poem. This emphasises specific phrases and helps the reader deliver his message precisely. Moreover, it adds rhythm to a passage and makes the phrase efficient. The phrase "I'm a strong man, proud man" showcases the overall point of the poem, which is to show that the Banana Man is extremely happy and content with his job, though it is not considered a very good one in society.
