Storyboard Text

  • How to find angles with trigonometry
  • Welcome back to Math Attic, with me, your host Daniel. Today we are going to see how to find angles using trigonometry.
  • How do we find this angle? Tan isn't enough for this problem.

  • We need something new.
  • Here we have new functions, Inverse sin, inverse cos and inverse tan
  • Sin -1 Soh Sin-1 = opp/hyp
  • Cos -1 Cah Cos -1 = opp/hyp
  • Tan -1 Toa Tan -1 = opp/adj
  • This new functions aren't the reciprocals of the first.
  • Sin-1 isn't 1/sin
  • And we just solve with the new formula
  • Sin -1 Soh Sin-1 = opp/hyp  Sin -1= 35/65  Sin -1 = 32.58
  • 32.58
  • 35
  • That's how we do it.
