Listen, guys. I was Caesar's friend, but Caesar was becoming too ambitious, so I had to stop him... for the sake of Rome.
Ides of March.Brutus explains his reasons for killing Caesar...
Brutus imagines how Caesar's mind worked...
He has got to be kidding...
Hooray! A bear! Noble Faun, make it dance!
Caesar and Brutus were both ambitious but is different ways. Brutus tragic flaw was his need to be noble and Caesar was his ego. The societal ill in Julius Caesar was personal ambition v. democratic governance. The need for change is when Brutus changes his mind about Caesar's death. At first Brutus was all for thinking Caesar's death was for saving Rome from a tyrant, but later thinks otherwise.
His head was the clouds for so long, he thought he owned the earth!
They killed him out of jealousy. If Caesar was your "friend", you would have talked to him instead of killing him!
Caesar was my good friend. How could he have been a tyrant! He cared for Rome!
