  • This place is the Tibet-Qinghai Plateau.   Since  Mount Everest  is in the Tibet-Qinghai Plateau, it is very cold here and because of the high elevation, this place is also called the roof of the world.
  • The Tibet-Qinghai Plateau is very dry, even though it has two major rivers.(the Yellow River and the Yangtze River.)
  • AHHH!!!
  • This is the  Taklimakan Desert. The  Taklimakan Desert is considered one of the most dangerous deserts in the world. Its name means, "once you go in, you will not come out." The   Taklimakan Desert desert is too dry to have any vegetation.
  • legend tells, that two armies and 300 cities were and still are buried 600 feet beneath the sand dunes!
  • The desert winds in Taklimakan Desert cause big sand dunes to shift, and that shifting causes sandstorms that can get up to a very high speed.
  • The Gobi Desert is one of the biggest deserts in the world stretching over 500,000 square miles. The Gobi desert has very few sand dunes, unlike the  Taklimakan Desert.
  • The Gobi Desert has a small amount of vegetation, widely spread apart. The Gobi Desert is very stony, and the surface is made up of tinny bits of pebbles and sand.
  • I think I'm lost.
  • The Northeastern Plains have short and warm summers, with cold, dry winters.  But, the eastern part has more water in the winter because of milder weather.
  • The two major rivers running through the  Northeastern plains are the Liao River and the Sungari River.  In the winter, the rivers freeze,  people use the rivers as roads.
  • There is lots of grasses and vegetation here in the Northeastern Plain and that is why there are so many farm/domestic animals.
  • The ground and the Yellow River is yellow because the sands from the Gobi Desert are carried into the river and into the ground to make it look yellow. The Yellow River is one of the world longest and muddiest rivers. The river starts from the high eastern mountains then down to the plains. This river carries silt that is good for fertilizing crops, so the river makes that area a good place to grow a crop.
  • The North China Plain is sometimes called the "Land of the Yellow Earth" because the ground is covered in yellow limestone silt.
  • In the summer, the temperature is warm, but in the winter, the temperatures are very cold.
  • The   Chang Chang  Basins start in the high western mountains then flows into the plains. The rivers deposits help fertilize the surrounding lands.
  • The   Chang Jiang  River floods less than the Huang He River so that makes it less dangerous.
  • This is the  Chang Chang Basins. The   Chang Chang  Basins are low, wet areas located next to the Chang Jiang  River. Since the Chang Jiang River is so long, (longer than the Yellow River) people use the river to transport goods to the different areas of the region.
  • The climates here are very warm and wet.
