The first two characters introduced in the short story are Whitney(left) & Rainsford(right). They're on a yacht sailing in the far right of the Caribbean Sea, heading to Rio de Janeiro.
After hearing three gunshots, Rainsford loses is balance & plunges into the sea. He spots the nearby island & swims to safety.
The rising action is when Zaroff has a conversation with Rainsford about Zaroff's growing boredom with hunting. Near the end of their conversation, Zaroff reveales that he hunts men instead of animals.
After their conversation, Rainsford has to go hunting with Zaroff for his amusement. His servant, Ivan, supplies him with food, a knife, and other hunting supplies to hid from Zaroff for three days in the jungle.
The falling action is the time periods of Rainford's traps, where he succeeds in all three. The first injures Zaroff's shoulder, the second kills one of Zaroff's dogs, and the last kills Ivan.
The conclusion is when Rainsford wins, sneaks into Zaroff's bedroom, & challenges Zaroff to a fight. Rainsford also wins & sleeps on the bed as the winner.
