  • Today's lesson will be about bytes and file size
  • For example, a byte is a unit of data that is 8 bits long. 
  • A few examples of bytes are kilobytes, megabytes, and gigabytes.
  • Each byte can be measured in a specific file, for instance, a kilobyte is about an email without image
  • Now lets look at an example . . . "Alice has 600 MB of data. Bob has 2000 MB of data. Will it all fit on Alice's 4 GB thumb drive?
  • Based on prior knowledge 1 GB is about a billion bytes and 1 MB is about a million bytes so therefore . . .
  • The answer is : yes it will fit because her thumb drive has GB which is about 4,000 MG so it'll fit
