In this story, we see the birth of Hercules, one of the most well known Greek heroes.
Hercules was born to Zeus and Alcmene, as a product of an affair, as Zeus disguised himself as her husband.
Zeus' wife Hera was not happy at this, and stole Hercules to drop him off in the wilderness to let him die.
The Goddess Athena saw this and decided to save Hercules from the wilderness.
Athena then gave Hercules back to Hera, and Hera, not knowing who the child was, breastfed him, giving him inhuman strength.
Hera also sent two snakes to kill Hercules in his crib, but he strangled them both. After this, Hera gave up on trying to kill him for a while.
