Ethan Adams and Wyatt Peeling 7-7 Period 7/8 Solving multi-step equations with Gerald and Chuck
Step 2: Combine like terms. For example your equation is 2x+4+9x+8=50, you would combine the variable X to make 11x and the numbers to make 12. Your final result should be 11x+12
Today we are going to be teaching you how to solve multi-step equations
Step 1: Multiply your first number by the numbers in the parentheses. (Make them separate)
Step 3: Undo addition and subtraction. For example if your simplified equation is 6x+4+=28, you woulf subtract 4 from 4 and 4 from 28 which would be 6x=24. Then you divide 6 by 24 and 6 by 6. Your final result should be x=4.
Step 4: Undo multiplication or division. It is the same thing as step 3. Just do the same operations as step 3 but use division and multiplication.
