I am short for my age. I have a buzz cut. I am also curious and observant.
"Dinner is served until half past six. What time do you have yours?"
I am tall and I have a deep voice. I support Nazi propaganda and is considerate to Bruno's feelings.
"Those people...well, they're not people at all."
I am a Lieutenant for the Germans. I also have blonde hair.I am rude and inconsiderate.
"Hey, Little Man."
Bruno is nine years old. His role is significant because he is the main character and he is the person the story is told by the whole story. One significant action Bruno has done is ask his father about the people at the camps, because it shows that his father is hiding the truth from Bruno.
I am a kid and is young. I have long hair. I am mean and I'm immature.
Father is a commandant for the Germans. I think Father is in his 40s or 50s. Father influences Bruno a lot and is the reason why Bruno moves to Out-With. An important act in the book is when Father question Lieutenant Kotler's loyalty to Germany because it makes Kotler kill Pavel. This is why Shmuel wants Bruno to go in the camp.
I have long and blonde hair. I am caring and a traitor.
Lieutenant Kotler is 19 years old. Lieutenant Kotler is another one of the antagonists. He is also the reason that Mother wanted to move back to Berlin. Kotler had an affair with Mother and Father found out. One significant action is when he told Bruno where the tire was because then Bruno got hurt.
Gretel is Bruno´s older sister. She just turned 13 in the story. Gretel's role in the story is one of the antagonists. One of the significant actions Gretel has done is explain why the Jews were on the side of the fence. Gretel also supports the Nazi cause and that the Jews should be separated.
"We're the opposite...Yes, that's it. Were the opposite."
Mother is caring because she made sure Pavel wouldn't get in trouble when he helped Bruno. She is traitor because she cheated on Father with Kotler. I think Mother is 30-40 years old. Her role is significant because she shapes Bruno and Gretel as people. She also helps them significantly with anything.
"We must all just keep ourselves safe until this is all over. That’s what I intend to do anyway."
"There aren't any good soldiers"
Shmuel is a Jewish child that was put in a concentration camp. Shmuel was also nine and had the same birthday as Bruno. Shmuel's role in the story is Bruno's only friend at Out-With and is the reason Bruno was killed. The most significant action was when he gave Bruno the striped pajamas.
I am very skinny and short. I am considerate and fearful.
