Dear Aunt Martha, You'll never believe it! Last night, a mob went to the lieutenant governor's house. They burned his books and papers, stole his money, and even took his sister and daughter's clothes and put them on for fun! I think this is a bit excessive, and unnecessary. The stamp act was only the King's fault not the people he advises. I think that to try to make a change people who protest need to do it peacefully and not kill, or harm their own. There was no need to take his sister and daughter's clothes and put them on that is just wrong and creepy. Also, burning the books did nothing to benefit anyone because the books had not significant to the problem we are facing right now. Sincerely, Your Niece.
No more stamp duty!
We are forcing all the stamp-officers to resign their place.
What am I going to do without a job?
We will not sell anything from Great Britain until the stamp act is repealed.
