External Conflict (Man vs. Man)
"When the men had finished their looting, they picked up Uncle's gun. Then they walked to the tree where uncle was tied up. Maybe they will leave us alone now that they have robbed us, Salva thought. He heard them laughing. As Salva watched, one of the men aimed his gun at uncle. Three shots rang out . Then the man ran away"(Park 32).

"Thousands, maybe millions, of hungry mosquitoes massed so thickly that in one breath Salva could have ended up with a mouthful if he wasn't careful. And even if he was, they were everywhere-in his eyes, nose, ears, on every part of his body"(Park 49).
External Conflict (Man vs. Nature)
It was just a normal day in class for Salva, when suddenly something unexpectedly had happened. Gunshots From outside the school were shot and everyone reached into a panic when they heard them.
Salva is by the Nile river trying to relax after a long hard day. When an army full of millions of mosquitoes starts attacking Salva. They enter his face and entire body, they started hurting him till he felt pain. This was very challenging.
Internal Conflict (Man vs. Self)
Salvas uncle tried to protect and help Salva with his journey right , after Salvas Uncle had been killed by the rebels, Salva was feeling hopeless and didn't know what to do. And it was up to him to finish his journey on finding his family. He didn't give up because he still had some hope and strength left in him.
