Theology - Exodus 14

Storyboard Text

  • Speak to the Israelites: Let them turn about and camp before Pi-hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea.a Camp in front of Baal-zephon,* just opposite, by the sea.
  • And so, Pharaoh sent his soldiers and their chariots to track down the Israelites and bring them back to Egypt.
  • “What in the world have we done!” they said. “We have released Israel from our service!”
  • When the Israelites saw the Egyptians, they thought of going back to being slaves rather than dying. Moses said to them, "Do not fear! Stand your ground and see the victory the LORD will win for you today."
  • "And you, lift up your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea, and split it in two, that the Israelites may pass through the sea on dry land"
  • Moses did as the LORD told him: He stretched his hand out and the waters parted, making a path for the Israelites.
  • The Egyptian soldiers pursued the Israelites as they marched through the open sea. God commanded Moses to seal the waters back up and he did so. Once the waters closed back up, Pharaoh's men and chariots were consumed and drowned.
