And Hashem spoke to Moshe telling him to send forth men ( the Nasi of each tribe) to spy out the land of Canaan.
Moshe sent them to spy out the land of Canaan. he told them to see if the people were strong or weak, few or many and whether they live in camps or fortified cities. He asked them to find out whether the land was fertile or infertile and he asked whether or not there was a tree (A Sadik).
