The Exposition is that Mrs. Jones is walking down the empty street and a boy is walking behind her.
The boy tried to steal Mrs. Jones purse but failed and landed right on the ground.
Mrs. Jones got mad at the boy and dragged him to her house and let him to wash his face while she cooks herself supper.
After the boy finish washing his face, he sat down at the dinner table and looked at the purse that was right in front of him and saw that the door was open so he can grab the purse and leave. But he hesitated.
When Mrs. Jones finished cooking, she thought the boy didn't eat supper yet, so she invites him to supper and she told the boy that she has been guilty once in her lifetime before.
When they finished eating, Mrs. Jones led the boy out her house and gave him 20 dollars for the blue suede shoes and told him to never try and steal anything from anyone again. The boy was in shook and before he could say anything, Mrs. Jones slammed the door.
