Jamestown had a warmer climate. They could farm more and profit off of their crop. Jamestown's cash crop was tobacco.
Plymouth had a colder climate. They could only farm once during the year, when it was warm. They relied on the Natives to help them with crops. Plymouth's cash crop was fur.
Jamestown came for econmic reasons. Jamestown came to America to leave England for new opportunities and to claim more land.
Plymouth came for religous freedom. While the rest of England was Anglican, the Separatists wanted to be more strict religiously. They left England to start their own colony and have religious freedom.
