The Manuscript contains information about the Baskerville curse. There is said to be a hound lurking around, hunting down the Baskervilles. recently, Sir Charles Baskerville died on the moor.
Dr. Mortimer reads. a Manuscript; "Of the origin of the Hound of Baskervilles there have been many statements, yet as i come in a direct line................"

Watson soon finds out that Sherlock was staying in some prehistoric huts on the moor. Sherlock didn't actually need Watson.
