  • King Minos is mad because Theseus escaped the "impossible" maze. "Minos may control the land and sea but he does not control the air." Lines 11-12.
  •                               Falling Action
  • Icarus and Daedalus got caught trying to escape by boat. "Minos may control the land and sea but he does not control the air." lines 11-12.
  • resolution
  • The two prisoners made wings out of feathers and wax. "Icarus my son we are about to make our flight. No human being has ever traveled  through air before, and I want you to listen carefully to my instructions. Keep at a moderate height, for if you fly too low the fog will clog your wings, and if you fly too high, the heat will melt the wax that holds them together. Keep near me and you will be safe." Lines 41-47.
  • Theme
  • Icarus and Daedalus are flying with their wings. The blazing sun beat down on the wings and softened the wax. Lines 70-71.
  • Icarus is falling from the sky. Icarus did not notice how close he was to the sun till the largest feather  came off then he was fluttering his arms frantically. Lines 75-77.
  • Icarus is dead. This story is telling everyone to not be so cocky and to stay by because you are safe around family.
